Shantinikethan COE established in 2007-08 (B.Ed), Shantinikethan College of Elementary Teacher Education in 2008. With the mission of providing quality education to trainee teachers through the B.Ed & D.Ed courses along with sound theoretical base, the students are given a wide exposure to practical work. The B.Ed & D.Ed students are sent to various schools for their teaching Practice programme.
Attendance and punctuality are a part of professional responsibility essential for teachers. The minimum requirement of attendance is 80% in each theory subject and practical work. In case of sickness 10% attendance will be condoned on medical grounds provided a medical certificate issued by registered medical practitioner is submitted.
A candidate applying for admission to the B.Ed course must have passed the degree examination (BA/B.Com/B.Sc/BCA/BBM/BTECh) of any recognized university with a minimum of 50% and also qualified in the Ed.CET Examination. 75% seats are filled through counselling by the convenor.
A candidate applying for admission to the D.Ed course must have passed the intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent examination and also qualified in DIET CET examination
