Shantinikethan COE established in 2007-08 (B.Ed), Shantinikethan College of Elementary Teacher Education in 2008. With the mission of providing quality education to trainee teachers through the B.Ed courses along with sound theoretical base, the students are given a wide exposure to practical work. The B.Ed students are sent to various schools for their teaching Practice programme.
ATTENDANCE
Attendance and punctuality are a part of professional responsibility essential for teachers. The minimum requirement of attendance is 80% in each theory subject and practical work. In case of sickness 10% attendance will be condoned on medical grounds provided a medical certificate issued by registered medical practitioner is submitted.
A candidate applying for admission to the B.Ed course must have passed the degree examination (BA/B.Com/B.Sc/BCA/BBM/BTECh) of any recognized university with a minimum of 50% and also qualified in the Ed.CET Examination. 75% seats are filled through counselling by the convenor.
The annual intake of students for the B.Ed course for each section is 50.
